I find that big cardboard boxes are great free materials to create some temporary fun for kids. Earlier I blogged about reusing the maternity box as a toy car. But we’ve also used the huge boxes my husbands workplace sometimes receives parts in. I thought a couple of the best things my husband did was when he turned the boxes into a little play house and slide for kids.
The play house (on the right) is about 150 cms and our kids could walk straight through the door. I think my husband spent about 2 hours cutting and taping this one together, it took for our kids and a couple of their friends about 5-6 hours of active playing to pull it a part again. But it was definitively worth the effort!
We taped the slide on our indoor stairs and it was a definitive hit toy in a fancy dress party for kids (were the fancy dresses did not stay on for too long). This one did not take long to cut into shape .
