Circus Finlandia will keep their horses outside in the Kaisaniemi park until early November (when weather permits) We went there before a show today, and were able to see a guy warm up before the show. Extremely exciting for toddlers.

They are certainly very stocky horses! In both Australia and Singapore you have to hunt to see a horse which isn’t a fine-boned thoroughbred, or some close relative thereof (racing industry). Quite beautiful to see sturdy breeds like this.
That’s true, I never thought about it before! Stocky horses are pretty common here. I wonder if it has to do with the climate? I should ask somebody who knows more about horses than me 🙂
I think it has more to do with economics and culture than climate. The horse scene here is pretty much racing with a bit of polo. Australia is all about the sprints. Europe is better known for things like dressage etc. That’s just a guess, though.
