…are such a wonderful thing in life! My parents live 2 hrs drive away and still they are happy to drive to us occasionally and take care of my babies when the daycare is closed. As if it wouldn’t be enough that they entertain and care for the kids; my mum also showed me a fridge full of meals for the next couple of days and my dad has vacuumed the whole house. Is their a nicer way to come home?

I’m jealous, we have never had any family around! Enjoy your very special treat!!
I never realised how big a help it is to have helpful grandparents (and I have been positively surprised by how much they want to help, after all, they have a pretty active lifestyle) before kids. Must be the hardest part when moving to another country with kids, not to have other family to help out when needed.
I have always wished I had family close, esp. when the kids were young but you just get use to doing everything yourself….I’m hoping I’ll have grand kids close by in the very distant future!
