A few years back we got to enjoy something a bit different in Jurmala, a little beach resort just outside of Riga (or is it part of Riga?): the snow fall was so heavy that we in minutes waded in light snow on the beach. And then we watched the waves hit the snow just below the horizon – the nature just offers so many free but fun experiences.

I love these photos, you can hear the stillness of the snow
Thanks!

Such a beautiful view! Looks really cold out there in that beautiful snow.
Doesn’t it look like in old postcards?! It was such weird weather though: there was hardly no wind but still big waves (relatively speaking, not quite enough for surfing though 😉 ), loads of snow but only a couple of minus degrees!
That’s one unusual horizon. I’ve never really pictured a beach with snow, even in my imagination!
The weird thing is: if you have snow, you normally first have ice (or it may snow but melt away) as far as you can see from the shore. Well, at least at home.
Yes, it would look less unusual with ice. Not so much from personal experience, but pictures of snow with ice seem more “right”.
