The Mummy Tag

Mum of the Blackberry boys tagged me with the following questions, which seemed to be directed to mums who have one baby, so KukolinaMomtimes4Mama MandolaMamaseinfraubleiben,MomscamRaising Dragon Boy365 days – A diary fo a newly single mum may want to participate? And anyone else who reads this post and has a baby/ toddler, consider yourself tagged

1. Are you a stay at home mum or a working mum?

Working.

2. Would you have it any other way?

No. I love working. But I also loved staying home with my kids for 3 years. There is a time for everything.

3. Do you co-sleep?

Not at the start of the night but sometimes at the end of it.

4. What is your one must-have item for your baby?

Hmm, I don’t really have a baby anymore as my younger one is 2,5 yo (thank God). But nappies were pretty important back then. Nowadays my younger one would say Bunny.

5. How many kids do you plan on having?

No more, 2 is enough.

6. Date nights. How many do you have per month?

Most Fridays and Mondays, if our sofa dates count. If it means time outside of the house and just the two of us, hmm, 4 times a year?

7. Your child’s favourite show?

Angelina Ballerina, The Moomins, Maisy Mouse, The Cars, The Planes, My Little Ponies, Chugginton, Tinkerbell

8. Name one thing you bought before the baby but never ended up using?

I can’t think of anything,  don’t like have loads of stuff around and mainly get things after I need them. Minimalist sometimes has taken that “ideology” a bit further.

9. Your child’s favourite food?

The older one would go for ice cream and biscuits (oh, you mean food? Hm, cucumber, does that count?), the younger one loves boiled carrots and eats anything that isn’t sweet.

10. How many cars does your family have?

One station wagon

11. Weight gain – before pregnancy, during, after and now?

Meine Güte, what a question!
I gained some 5 kgs when I finished training kickboxing, and then some 15 kgs during both pregnancies. About to loose about 5 kgs by midsummer to fit clothes well. If I don’t make it I’ll be 50e poorer.

12. Dream holiday with your kids?

Interrail in Europe, Croatia, Italy (Italy take Two has done nothing to lessen my desire to explore this country!), Greece, road trip across the states, pacific islands, Malaysia (great posts from Penang on Penang Momma’s blog)… and the list goes on. I just need a sponsor and more holidays. I’ve also become keen on revisiting Singapore, since so many great bloggers have given more ideas for the location. You may want to check out at least Havefunwithkids, Raising Dragon Boy, Kidsrsimple and Journeys of a Fabulist

Btw, looking forward to camping this summer! What kind of plans do you have for your next holidays?

13. Dream holiday without your kids?

Oh, there’s a difference? I think everything is doable with and without the kids, just a bit in another rhythm. On holidays I want to spend time with my kids! However, we have been thinking on a European city weekend with my hubby, e.g. Rome comes to mind.

14. How has your life changed since having kids?

Nowadays I cook ;). I hurry home from work as I want to see my kids before bedtime instead of often working late.

15. Finish the sentence, ‘it makes my heart melt when …’.

my kids tell me they love me. Or each other.

16. Where do you shop for your kids?

friends ;), fleemarkets, Name It, Lindex, where ever I find what I want.

17. Favourite make up and skincare products?

Say what??! 🙂 Dermosil for scin care. Make up varies

18. Huggies or Pampers?

Luckily neither anymore.

19. Have you always wanted kids?

No.

20. Best part of being a mum?

It’s fun.

But also the fact that it is not all I am.

  1. Love your answers! Love your answer to 20 🙂 Rome is great and Croatia is also exciting. I am also interested in Singapore since reading all these great bloggers write about it 🙂 xoxo Fanni

  2. I love your first answer to number 16 🙂 . And also your conclusion. It’s good to have balance.

BUT I want to hear about your inter rail through Europe. I know you’ve been thinking about that for a while – I guess you just need to find the right time etc!

      1. Just had a quick look and looks like I’m going to need more time for that blog. Awesome, thanks for the tip!

        1. When you’re ready to plan – it’s a pretty big blog.

          1. I have time, we are not going next week 🙂

    1. Yes, unfortunately we’ll postpone the interrail a bit (again) as it looks like my husband will do some training that messes with our schedules. Not necessary without bringing some other good opportunities though but we’ll see when things clear up.

      1. I’ll look forward to it. Life can be hard to juggle sometimes!

        1. Hard, but this time only a choice between good alternatives. Life could be worse 🙂

          1. Definitely! Two very good alternatives 🙂 .

      2. Oh, and thanks for the mention as well – honoured!

  3. When we become parents, we just want to travel with our kids together! I like your take on dream holiday with or without kids 🙂 I do hope you’ll visit Singapore soon. Oh, and the mummy tags on to me too, I have 3 kids haha… but nowadays I am trying to find a balance in blogging and my personal life that I haven’t been able to find the time to do these questions. Hope I’ll get to do it soon 🙂

    1. I just realised I didn’t put you in to the great lot of Singapore based bloggers! Will have to edit some, you’ll given so many great tips. Sorry about this miss!

But yes, I agree, these take a lot of time so it did take me like a month and a few days with grandparents around to get around to write the post… but isn’t that a good value in the mummy identity, that the main focus is still irl? 🙂 I would like to read your answers though if you have the time!

      1. You don’t have to feel bad about missing me! In fact, I love to know other bloggers who have blogged about Singapore too. It’s good to know new bloggers. I like the mummy tag as it prompts even me into thinking about myself while I read yours and others 🙂

        1. That was pretty fun about the tag!

  4. My family dream holiday keeps changing too….and I love the idea of a travel sponsor!

    1. We need to change some tips when one of us finds the sponsor then!

  5. Now that was a great post! And I am with you on the last one, I love being a mom – but I also love that it’s not all that I am! 😉

    1. Great minds think alike 😉

Great post! And Rome is amazibg but don’t expect much from accommodation no matter how much you pay. 😉
Oh Croatia is a must too. I’d love to take V there sometime. We went there the summer before I got pregnant.

    1. Oh, accommodation is that bad? ah well, good we just bought a new tent then 😉
I’ve heard so many great things about Croatia, must get there one day.
