A ride on Föri, a ferry for pedestrians, is a must if you are with children in Turku. It only takes a minute to cross the river and the ferry goes non-stop. The views are not bad for adults either, especially during a regatta. The pics are from the Gangut regatta (31.7-3.8.2014).
On the harbour side of the river there is also a playground and an ice cream booth close to the jetty, just to make the location even more tempting.
Good to know there is a free ferry ride in Turku. By the way, what do you think about this whole “Kiss my Turku” tourist campaign? Does it hurt your ears too, or is it only me getting old and grumpy? 🙂
Haha, is there a campaign like that? I haven’t noticed it, but to me it shows some pretty good sense of humour, ability to laugh at oneself 😀
You are right. I guess I listened to it on the radio far too many times, on a bad day. 🙂
I guess it also depends on the way they say it? Some people take these things very seriously….
I’ve always wanted to ride on a ferry! Especially one that leads to fun and ice cream!
The flight to Finland is a small price to pay for a free ferry ride 😉
Lol!! So true! 😛
