Autumn Fun

Adults may not fancy the rain but kids love it: splashing through the puddles (I’d like them to avoid the diving in but obviously that happens too…), “fishing” in them, loading a truck with items “saved” from the puddle… Investing in proper rain gear has been worth every cent!

More fun with autumn leaves here.

  1. Z loves to splash in puddles, so I am very glad we got her some galoshes in Tokyo when we were there. She wants to wear them all the time, even calling them sun boots if it’s not raining. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Z too? I’ve been wondering why my kids also want to wear their gumboots if they get a free choice? I think boots are heavy and clumsy compared to so many more comfy shoes…

      1. If my feet are hot, then my whole self is hot. I rarely wear anything but sandals here. I don’t know how she does it. ๐Ÿ™‚

        1. Kids are really funny that way. The other thing especially my boy does is to wear hats, even woollen ones and even in the middle of the hottest summer.

  2. That looks like so much fun!

    1. They were having fun = I enjoyed it too ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I love the rain… when I can look at it from inside the house, sitting next to the fireplace, reading a book, glass of wine in hand. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Haha, that is not a bad way to look at it!

  4. So many people head indoors during the rain! And here we have even less excuse, since it’s warm even when it’s wet. Rainy season coming up – must remember to splash a few puddles!

    1. True! I can’t say I always enjoy going out in the rain but in my opinion it beats staying inside with hypo children ๐Ÿ˜‰ And sometimes it just feels fresh.

      1. Oh my goodness yes the kids go crazy. It’s worth it for that. If it was just me I probably would stay indoors, though…

        1. Another option is to send the kids out in the garden too and then sit back with a good book… ๐Ÿ™‚

          1. When we had a garden in Australia P was too young to play independently in it while I read a book. Now we have no garden and they’re both too young to walk down the road to the park without supervision… So raincoats it is!

            1. Yeah, location matters!

  5. I try to embrace the child in me and join in on the rainy day fun. ๐Ÿ™‚ My middle child is a huge Peppa Pig fan so she’s all about “muddy puddles”!

    1. Great attitude ๐Ÿ™‚
