I’m sure everyone heard about the destruction the earthquake caused in Christchurch four years ago. I was still shocked to see how bad the effect from it and it’s after shocks were. One can still see what a beautiful city it has been but the city centre still has loads of doomed houses and is full of construction sites.
But I suppose the old cliché is true: from the devastation has arisen new pretty creative solutions like the container mall, which looked really cool!
Obviously we went to see the famous and beautiful old church that got severe damage, and the cardboard alternative that was quickly built to offer some shelter. Even our kids were impressed looking at these. They also had fun spotting churches in the city, all more or less severed. Some new options had plenty of fresh air…

I remember watching the devastation from that earthquake on the news. It’s good to see them slowly rebuilding.
