Easter in Helsinki, there are plenty of options on what to do: with children it would be wonderful to see lambs in Haltiala for free, there is a new puppet theatre play by Sytkyt at the Winter Gardens, also for free and of course one could pay for the Korkeasaari Zoo. But one can expect them to be full of people.
We were tired after being lots away, so we wanted to catch up with friends in a low key manner. Our choice felt perfect: first we went up the always lovely but this time very icy Sky Hill in Käpylä, and then participated at the free Circus workshop at Park Hotel.
The circus programme was offered by a duo called the Tuktuk Travellers and they were awesome!
First “the boys” Juho and Pyry showed a few incredible two people towers, then Juho did these amazing tricks rolling inside of a circle, I’ve never seen anything similar before. (Sorry, all my pics are poor: the good mannered me saved the first row for kids, and with a child that always needs to warm up to shows on my knee it wasn’t easy to take pictures. But I’ll publish one anyway just to give an idea.)
After the show the circus workshop started: it was fun for both kids and adults! We were taught varies safe ways to have kids climb on us – or for couples to try! -, throw kids in the air and it was more of a work out for me than I had expected. But so much fun! The Tuktuk Travellers promised to offer a few open workshops in the summer, if you are interested just follow them on Facebook. I will go if I can!
Btw, this is not a sponsored post, it is just me who got all excited.
