Our kids started with sewing paper pictures, then my daughter wanted to sew a little bear using stitches she had learnt at daycare, and then we started to make a pillow with cross stitches. The bear and the pillow for cross stitching were unnecessary big as projects, I’ve been helping a bit and the pillow is still waiting to be finished. Lucky there is no hurry.
But then I found a sewing kit for a lovely little bag for only a few euros.
It is out of felt, so easy to handle. It had holes punched in to show where to stick the needle and the pieces were ready cut. A picture of what it will look like when ready was motivating. My daughter finished this project on four sewing occasions, so even this project was a bit bigger than I would have preferred and she needed some encouragement to get started the fourth time.
She was so happy when she had done the whole thing! Who cares the handles could have been attached the other way around, it is something pretty that she made!!
She must be super proud of herself! Those sewing kits are great. My daughter loves the felt stuffed animal sewing kits 🙂
